Shinto Pro Pimped Micro Assist Hooks
The Shinto Pro Pimped Micro Assist Hooksare a standout in the micro assist hook market with their overly flashy and attractive designs, incredibly strong and sharp hooks, and strong rings. These assists are perfect for estuary hard body lures between 70-110mm. They’re also effective on micro jigs or when used as a stinger on soft plastics (attach to the jig head eyelet via split ring).
Features:
- XStrong Hooks
- Offset double
- 2 hooks per assist, 2 assists per pack
- Test Strength: 30lb (all sizes)
Benefits Of Using Assist Hooks
- Better Fish Landing Rates:assist hooks eliminate the leverage of the lure to dislodge the hook during a fight with an aggressive fish due to their flexible cord connection.
- Less Bust-Offs:the length of the assist chord keeps the fish’s mouth away from your leader, which is especially handy when there are tailoror other toothy species around, or fish that are likely torub through your leader like big flathead.
- Better Attraction:the Shinto Pro Pimped Assist Hooks are especially flashy, with holographic strips as well as high-vis strips and glitter throughout some of the strips.
- More Natural Lure Presentation:The assist hooks streamline the look of your lures when it counts, with a constant retrievethey sit alongside the lure giving a more natural baitfish profile, and splay out when you stop them on the bottom or jig them for attraction.
Where/When To UseTheseAssist Hooks
- On hard body lures to replace trebles and/or use in conjunction with them
- On metal jigs
- On soft plastics as stinger hooks. Rather than a traditional stinger, it’s best to attach them to your jig head eyelet with a split ring
How To Rig Them
You really can rig them however you like. We’ve personally tried almost all combinations with success, but the best we have found so far for general usage on a typical hard body minnow (long slender lure) would have to be theassist hook on the rear eyeletcombined with and a treble or double hook on the middle eyelet. That’s not to say it doesn’t work other ways, and it certainly has for us, this is just the best. Some lures will require a different setup because of their shape, just do it to match your lure. You will occasionally get the assist tangle with the other hook, but it’s no biggie considering the benefit once you actually hook a fish.
